Biography:

Prof. Dr. Şukru Torun is a specialist in neurology and neuroscience, with training from Hacettepe University and Eskişehir Osmangazi University. He has conducted extensive research and practice in the fields of language-music-brain relationships in neurological disorders and music therapy for neuropsychosocial conditions. Dr. Torun has contributed to academic innovations, such as introducing courses on dyslexia in speech and language therapy programs and integrating music therapy into medical education. He was one of the first doctors in Turkey authorized to practice music therapy and established Turkey’s first Music Therapy Department at Anadolu University. He currently works at Anadolu University in Eskişehir, where he leads the Music Therapy Department and Master's Program. His research focuses on neuroplasticity, neurocreative music therapy, and neuroeducation.
